Senior Programme Associate – Economic Empowerment

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Programme Associate to lead economic empowerment initiatives in Tajikistan. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Head of Programmes, you will work within the Migration Solutions Unit to design and implement projects that harness migration as a driver of sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor economic empowerment projects aligned with national development priorities.
• Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and international partners to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Provide technical expertise on labour mobility, reintegration, and socio‑economic inclusion.
• Collect and analyse data to produce evidence‑based recommendations for policy and programme improvement.
• Support the preparation of reports, proposals, and communication materials for stakeholders.

Required profile

• School diploma with at least seven years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field with a minimum of five years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in programme implementation, especially in migration‑development contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and adapt to a multicultural environment.
