Assistant Accountant

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support its financial operations in Tajikistan. The role will work closely with the Georgia finance team and regional business units, handling day‑to‑day accounting, reporting, and compliance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records and process financial transactions.
• Prepare cash sheets, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
• Support invoicing, collections, accounts receivable, and vendor payments.
• Assist with payroll processing and coordinate with local tax authorities.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, VAT, and financial regulations.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
• Coordinate with regional finance teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain proper documentation in EPICOR/1C systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, VAT, and reconciliations.
• Experience working with local tax and government authorities.
• Fluent in Tajik; good English and Russian communication skills.
