Lead Engineer, Land Infrastructure

About the role

Aurecon is expanding its Tauranga team and seeks a Lead Engineer to drive complex, multi‑disciplinary land infrastructure projects. You will work across transport, land development, utilities, water and government sectors, delivering practical engineering solutions while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design civil infrastructure including roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and pavement for transport, water, energy and government projects.
• Prepare high‑quality technical reports and design documentation within budget and schedule.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
• Support proposal preparation and project delivery for the national Land Infrastructure team.
• Engage directly with clients to understand challenges and develop engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proven experience delivering roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and pavement design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with interest in mentoring engineers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry software such as 12d.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
