Lead Consultant, Water

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Lead Consultant to shape the strategic direction and operational excellence of its Water sector practice in Malaysia. You will combine technical leadership, business development, and team management to deliver integrated water solutions for municipal, industrial, and environmental projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and grow Aurecon’s Water sector practice in Malaysia.
• Provide technical leadership across water infrastructure projects, ensuring high‑quality delivery.
• Drive business development initiatives, identify opportunities and support winning work.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders and partners.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget and timelines.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across regions to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and sustainability practices.
• Contribute to innovation, digital transformation and thought leadership within the water sector.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in the water sector.
• Proven expertise in water infrastructure, including river water supply, industrial water supply and wastewater treatment.
• Strong track record in project management and technical delivery.
• Experience in client relationship management and business development.
• Established network across public and private sector stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
