Resident Electrical Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Resident Engineer (Electrical) to lead the electrical delivery on complex construction projects, including mission‑critical facilities such as data centres. You will ensure that all electrical works meet design specifications, safety standards and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions to on‑site issues and coordinate with electrical discipline leads.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Monitor electrical installation works for compliance with approved designs and standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and documentation of electrical systems.
• Maintain quality control and safety compliance on‑site.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors and consultants to resolve technical challenges.
• Verify that delivered materials and equipment meet project requirements.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and attend project meetings.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Registration as a Resident Engineer with BEM.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical supervision experience, preferably in industrial or institutional projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems for data centres and power distribution.
• Commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.
